NewBridge Services Joins Christian Health

Christian Health board Chair Thomas Dykhouse and NewBridge Services board President Debbie King announced today that Christian Health, a leading provider of mental health, senior living, and short-term rehabilitation, has become the sole member of NewBridge Services, a local leader in community and residential mental health, education, and senior services.

This strategic collaboration leverages each organization's unique strengths and expands their impact across Northern New Jersey. The partnership offers various benefits, including expanded geographic reach, increased access to a diverse range of services, a seamless continuum of care, enhanced operational efficiency, and strengthened community impact.

“This relationship will fortify our ability to meet community needs through new and existing programs,” said King. “We believe that we can achieve more together than what our organization could achieve individually.”

“Christian Health and NewBridge share commonalities in organizational history, mission, and culture,” said Dykhouse. “The thoughtful integration of these two mission-driven healthcare organizations further solidifies our shared commitment to our local communities and provides new opportunities to grow and expand our services and our geographic footprint.”

The agreement was approved by the State of New Jersey’s Departments of Health, Human Services, and Children and Families, and took effect on September 1, 2024. NewBridge Services has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Christian Health while continuing to maintain its programmatic identity and board governance.

“We can all look forward to the benefit of shared resources, integrated knowledge, and the healthy growth of the organization,” said Michelle Borden, LCSW, NewBridge Services CEO. “I truly believe our team members and the people we're committed to serving will benefit from this new venture.”

Through this partnership, Borden joined Christian Health’s executive team, King has joined Christian Health’s board of trustees, and Christian Health CEO, Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, has joined NewBridge’s board of trustees.

“Our organizations have been working on this agreement with the confidence that the communities we serve will benefit tremendously as we align our shared values and commitment to excellence,” said Struyk. “I am excited for NewBridge to join Christian Health and enable both organizations’ dedicated physicians, professional clinicians, team members, volunteers, and supporters to work together to positively impact community health in northern New Jersey.”
