Christian Health announced its launch to extend a limited vaccination pilot program for families and loved ones visiting its long-term care residents as well as offering the vaccine to families of its staff. In accordance with New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Christian Health has resumed visitation and with a continued focus to prioritize infection prevention and control, has started this pilot program to further increase state and federal vaccine efforts.
“As we re-open our doors to visiting loved ones of our many residents and patients, we believe this vaccine pilot program will further our aggressive infection control and prevention measures to remain COVID-outbreak free” said Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, Christian Health President and CEO. “Christian Health is not intimidated by the challenges presented by COVID-19 and has worked diligently to safeguard our residents, patients, and staff going above and beyond state recommendations over the past 14 months since COVID first infiltrated New Jersey. The program will allow loved ones to feel safe during their visits and ensure they're keeping residents, patients, and staff at Christian Health safe as well.”
The vaccine pilot program would allow the two-dose Pfizer vaccine to be available to up to three loved ones or family members of each resident, patient or staff at Christian Health. Nearly 100% of all long-term care residents at Christian Health, and close to 80% of its staff have been vaccinated. Since January, Christian Health has successfully hosted 18 onsite COVID vaccine clinics on its campuses in Wyckoff and Wayne.
“We are committed in our ongoing efforts to help vaccinate as many people as possible at Christian Health and in our community of family, friends, loved ones, visitors, and volunteers,” said Mr. Struyk. “We are engaging as many vaccine opportunities as we can to help protect our community, and increase the amount of vaccines administered to as many people as we can.”
