Christian Health’s (CHCC) 30th Annual Golf Classic will once again include an outdoor yoga session overlooking the golf course, health and wellness presentation, women’s golf clinic, cocktails, and dinner. This special event for all levels of yogi and golfer will be held on Monday, June 10, at Knoll Country Club West in Parsippany.
“O’Shea Yoga is so excited to partner with Christian Health for another beautiful day of yoga and golf,” said Michele O’Shea, KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and owner of O’Shea Yoga in Wyckoff, NJ.
Ms. O’Shea will lead a 75-minute Kundalini yoga session overlooking the fairway of beautiful Knoll Country Club. Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, helps the practitioner to gain inner vitality to help combat the stresses of everyday life. No previous experience in yoga is required to enjoy the benefits of this special yoga session.
“The lush, green setting of the golf course, under a large oak tree for shade, is the perfect location for a mindful and calming yoga practice. This session is the perfect preparation for a women’s-only clinic, where attendees receive one-on-one coaching to hone their golf skills.” said Sue Kelly, CHCC Director of Development and Golf Classic Committee member.
The women’s golf clinic will be led by PGA Professional Baker Maddera. The clinic will teach the benefits of using different clubs in different scenarios, and will also offer practice and tips for improving your swing and putting.
Joan Katz, RD, Chief Dietician at CHCC will present “Let Food Be Thy Medicine,” which will highlight how we can get back to our roots, and keep food simple and delicious to keep us well. Special snacks including organic raw honey; delicious cheeses; nuts; fruits; and refreshing tea beverages will accompany the presentation.
This special experience designed to help attendees empower and uplift themselves begins with registration at 1:30 p.m. Yoga will begin at 2 p.m. followed by light refreshments, and the health and wellness presentation. The women’s golf clinic will begin at 4 p.m. followed by a cocktail reception and dinner at 6 p.m.
