Richard DeBel installed as new CHCC Board of Trustees Chair

This spring, Christian Health marked a historic milestone with the installation of Richard DeBel as the 20th Board of Trustees Chair. A dedicated trustee since 2006, Mr. DeBel has served as Vice Chair, Personnel Committee Chair, and Finance Committee Chair. He has also served as Co-chair of the Christian Health (CHCC) Golf Classic for 16 years.

Mr. DeBel has a distinguished career in the finance industry. Currently, he is Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo Commercial Banking. He began his banking career in 1983 with Suburban Savings and Loan Association in Wayne. He has worked in Middle Market commercial banking since 1985, holding various positions with Bank of America and its New Jersey predecessors for 30 years before joining Wells Fargo. Mr. DeBel holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from William Paterson University in Wayne, where he graduated magna cum laude.

In addition to his service to Christian Health, Mr. DeBel is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Tri-County Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for New Jersey’s most financially disadvantaged children to enable them to attend accredited K-12 private and parochial schools. He is a Past Member of Netherlands Reformed Christian School Board in Pompton Plains and of Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat Board, where he also chaired the Finance and Strategic Planning committees. He also is a Past Deacon of Ebenezer Netherland Reformed Church in Franklin Lakes.

Mr. DeBel follows in the footsteps of Gordon Meyer, Esq., who served as board chair for four years. Mr. Meyer who has an impressive legal career and is CEO of The Cliffs at Eagle Rock assisted-living residence, has served on the CHCC board since 2005.
