Christian Health Elects Four New Board Members

Christian Health (CHCC) has elected four new members to serve on its boards of trustees. Joining CHCC’s operating Board of Trustees is Donald Westra Jr. Joining the CHCC Foundation Board of Trustees are Maryanne Elsaesser; David Ruitenberg, Esq.; and Amy E. Shotmeyer, Esq. “We are so grateful for Don Westra’s interest in joining the CHCC Board of Trustees,” said Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, President and CEO of CHCC. “Don, his family, and the Wayne Tile organization have been friends and supporters of our ministry for many years. His leadership abilities and strong presence in the community will add mightily to the board’s oversight and governance as we seek to foster health, healing, and wellness in the lives of those we are blessed to serve.” “I am so pleased to welcome Maryanne, David, and Amy, to our board of trustees,” said Gordon Stanley, Chair, CHCC Foundation Board of Trustees. “They all bring a wealth of professional expertise, and they will be a great asset to the Foundation and the entire organization.”
Mr. Westra is a Principal in Wayne Tile, the Westra family business where he has worked for more than 40 years. He currently serves on New City Kids Paterson Board of Directors. Mr. Westra and his family are residents of North Haledon. “I have been given a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the development of the future culture for an organization which I may personally need one day.” said Mr. Westra, whose great-grandfather and grandmother were residents at CHCC. Ms. Elsaesser is a broker associate affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Wyckoff Franklin Lakes Office. As a licensed realtor, she is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards. She is a member of the CHCC Foundation Events Steering Committee. Ms. Elsaesser lives in Wyckoff with her husband and three children. “Having been in many facilities, I was always impressed with the leadership and staff at CHCC,” said Ms. Elsaesser “Everything that is organized, executed, and delivered always comes from the place of serving.” Mr. Ruitenberg is a partner in the law firm of Murphy McKeon PC in Riverdale. He represents and advises the firm’s public and private clients in matters concerning local government and authority law, in addition to serving as general or special counsel to various public agencies.
Mr. Ruitenberg lives in Ramsey with his wife and sons. “CHCC has always been there for my family and, so, it’s a pleasure to have this opportunity to give something back,” said Mr. Ruitenberg. “I hope to do what I can to ensure the continued delivery of the highest quality of care.” Ms. Shotmeyer is a partner at the firm DeCotiis, Fitzpatrick & Cole, LLP in Teaneck and is a member of the Litigation, Insurance Defense, Environmental Law, and Green Practice groups. Ms. Shotmeyer lives in Franklin Lakes. “My family has been a friend of CHCC for decades,” said Ms. Shotmeyer. “That’s why serving as a new member of the board is very dear to my heart.” The mission of the CHCC Foundation is to encourage the community to support and pray for CHCC’s mission to foster, health, and wellness for people of all ages.
