Haven at Ramapo Ridge provides inpatient trauma-informed care and services in a safe and secure setting for women only. Haven is the first of its kind in Bergen County and the only inpatient women’s program in New Jersey. The program offers a wide range of trauma care support and services, including that for childhood abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, pregnancy loss, postpartum depression, infertility, tours of duty, and substance use disorders.
Haven is privately located within Ramapo Ridge Behavioral Health, licensed by the State of New Jersey and accredited by The Joint Commission. Of the hospital’s 58 beds, 12 are designated for the Haven program.
Haven patients receive personalized care plans that lay out a path to healing in a safe space separate from the hospital’s general population. This allows privacy, a sense of security and stability away from triggers, and a peaceful environment for group therapy sessions.
Haven rooms are painted and furnished to create a welcoming and calming space. The program’s team members, including nurses and nursing assistants, social workers, and those providing therapeutic activities, have been thoroughly trained in women’s trauma and trauma-informed care. Therapeutic small group sessions ease the facilitation and processing of group content and sharing.
